The Headhunter’s Trail is a great way of entering or leaving Gunung Mulu National Park. The trail itself follows the route taken by Kayan headhunting parties who paddled up the Melinau River to Melinau Gorge. They then dragged their long boats through the forest for 3KM until they reached the banks of the Terikan River, where they launched headhunting raids against the people of the Limbang area.

day 01

Upon arriving at Mulu airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and transfer to Royal Mulu Resort for check in. Afternoon, meet at resort lobby and transfer to Mulu National Park headquarter. After registration and shall then proceed on plank walkway for 3KM to reach Deer Cave and Lang Cave. After exploring both caves, you shall be ushered forward to bats observatory to observe the impressive sights when thousands of bats flying out of the caves entrance at late afternoon (depending on weather). Return back to Park HQ on the same plank walkway and transfer back to resort. Dinner with cultural show performance and overnight at resort.

day 02

Breakfast at resort and transfer by long boat to Batu Bungan – Penan Settlement, to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. Continue journey by long boat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. Picnic lunch at Clearwater summer huts and relaxes for a while then continue journey by long boat to Long Litut. Then jungle trek for 3 hrs to Camp 5. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.

day 03

Breakfast at Camp 5, and then walk through lowland forest to Terikan River. Rest and have packed lunch by the river. After that, proceed by long boat down the Terikan River

day 04

Breakfast at Camp 5 and jungle trek to Long Litut and transfer to Clearwater summer hut for picnic lunch and later, you’ll have a chance to for a swim at the clear water spring. Transfer by long boat to Mulu airport for flight to next destination.
