This dramatic Kudat headland is situated in the northern-most tip of BORNEO, the third largest island in the world. Simpang Mengayau is the name of this tip and it means ‘lingering junction’ at it is here, that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east…In recent years, this has fast become a popular surfing spot for both local and overseas surfers.
Pick up from your hotel in the morning. Drive to Kota Belud – see the Bajaus & Dusun people of Kota Belud at the market. Proceed to the Bee Farm close to Siguati town.
Drive to Kudat, where the Gong making village is located.
Proceed to the Rungus Longhouse for lunch in a Rungus Longhouse. Constructed entirely of traditional materials but with added modern comforts (such as toilets and showers) – you get the opportunity to get a taste of real Rungus living through their food, daily rituals and Music.
After lunch, you will be taken to the scenic Sempang Mengayau – the northernmost part of Sabah – also known as the ‘Tip Of Borneo’. Here you shall marvel the beauty of both Sulu Sea and South China Sea. On a clear day, you can even spot the southernmost tip of one of the islands of Philippines!
